I'm Phil Karl — a NYC native, founder, and angel investor. I'm a co-founder of Outlier Labs, where we help build, incubate, and invest in tech companies.
In the past, I've co-founded and scaled several companies, including LiveProfile — a mobile messenger and social network which I grew to over 100 million users before it was acquired by BlackBerry. I've also co-founded DocShare, a document sharing platform.
My first computer was a Macintosh Performa 550 with a 28.8k modem. At 9 years old, I began learning HTML to build websites. By age 13, I started my first internet business, a web and game server hosting company.
My favorite hobbies outside of tech include traveling, tennis, rare Porsches, and HiFi audio. You can also find me on X, LinkedIn, or AngelList.
